Case Study – A New Website for Flitton and Greenfield Multi-Use Games Area
When the parish council first contacted us to take over the running of the Flitton and Greenfield MUGA website in 2015 we were excited to assist with such a great local amenity, established by a determined group of residents who wanted to be able to provide better facilities for everyone living in this great village.
Through the passage of time it became apparent a more robust booking system was required to help with individual, group and recurring bookings alongside the ability to book the playing field.
Fast forward to 2021 and a new improved website is born!
Designing a Booking System That’s Fit For Purpose
Translating a multi-use space into a user friendly website presents its challenges! There were certainly celebrations when we cracked it, but there was still more to do once we had the initial front end look and feel. First we needed a back-end system that was easy to manage by the Parish admin team, also important was a simple-to-use messaging system that allowed for efficient communication between the Parish and it’s members.
WordPress Site Refresh
Whilst the booking part of the site was an intricate custom build, the website was designed in WordPress. The priorities of the Imagefix design team were, as always, ease of use for visitors to the site. So the user experience was rigorously tested to ensure there were no problems navigating around the booking area for logged in members as well as those looking to join.
Working With the Community
Quite often we get to work with businesses in and around our local community and we felt proud to be able to work alongside everyone at the Parish who were obviously so dedicated to getting the site right for all members. We hope our local community is excited to start using the MUGA, obviously once the Covid restrictions are lifted.
